The President of Uzbekistan signed a Resolution “On measures to accelerate the construction of multistorey block of flats in the regions” No.ПП-4718 dated 19 May 2020 (“Resolution No.ПП-4718”) aimed at immediate elimination of the consequences of emergency incidents that occurred in the Bukhara and Sirdaryo regions, as well as accelerated urbanization in all regions of the Republic.
According to the Resolution No.ПП-4718, the following customs exemptions have been introduced for household builders in regions:
- for the period up to 1 January 2021, the imported new construction and special equipment, as well as vehicles for the transportation of goods are exempted from customs payments (with the exception of value added tax and customs clearance fees);
- during the period from 1 July 2020 to 1 July 2023, the imported forms for pouring concrete, machines and mechanisms for preparing concrete for the construction of monolithic residential buildings are exempted from customs payments.
Moreover, during the period from 1 July 2020 to 1 July 2023, the Resolution No.ПП-4718 provides for the right to defer up customs clearance payments for up to 120 days for construction machines and mechanisms, technological construction equipment, construction devices, spare parts and components, in the event of their use in the construction industry.
