On 8 June 2018 a Renewable Energy Summit was held in Astana. The purpose of the Summit was to discuss the use of renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of the best ideas and effective solutions designed to contribute to a "green" future of Kazakhstan and the world community as a whole. The Summit was attended by more than 500 delegates and speakers from around the world.

Shaimerden Chikanaev, Partner, Head of the Banking and Finance department of GRATA International, gave a speech at the Summit on the topic: "The main legal obstacles to the development of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan in 2018".
