Uzbekistan and Turkey signed an agreement on the protection of the rights 

Uzbekistan and Turkey signed an agreement on the protection of the rights of migrant workers and members of their families.

The document was signed during the state visit of the President Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan, which was held on 30 April - 1 May 2018.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Labor of Uzbekistan, the agreement regulates issues relating to the protection of the rights of migrant workers, who are citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkey and their family members and migrant workers, who are citizens of the Turkish Republic and members of their families.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations are responsible for implementation of the agreement from Uzbekistan, while the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will realize the document.

According to the agreement, migrant workers can work in the territory of the receiving state on the basis of agreements concluded with employers, in accordance with the legislation of the host country.

Also, the parties will facilitate the regulation of migration flows in their countries and cooperate to curb illegal labor in their countries.
