Amendments to the Law "On medical insurance”
On March 29, 2020, first hearing was held by the Parliament of Azerbaijan on draft amendments law to the Law "On medical insurance".

On February 27, 2020, a Task Force was established under the Cabinet of Ministers in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country. The Task Force consists of senior officials of relevant government authorities. It coordinates all major measures, taken by the Republic of Azerbaijan and reflects Azerbaijan’s response regarding the fear of an outbreak of the infection within the country in relation to the spread of the coronavirus in the world.

Amendments to Foreign Currency Regulation
On February 20, 2020, the Management Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved a decision on amendments to the “Regulations on currency operations of residents of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign currency, and non‐residents in national and foreign currencies”.

Azerbaijan Allows Fifth and

Azerbaijan has announced a significant change to its foreign airline policies. As of 1st January, all airlines based in a list of 40 different countries from North America, Asia and Europe, will automatically receive fifth and seventh freedom rights in Azerbaijan.

Amendments to Tax Code:
Azerbaijan
Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “on Amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 29 November 2019. These amendments become effective from January 1st, 2020.

By a Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 23, 2019 the functions and institutional structure of the Ministry of Economy were expanded. Ministry of Taxes, State Committee on Property Issues, State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Rights Protection were included into the structure of the Ministry of Economy in the status of relevant public services.
