Senators approved the Law
on Special Economic Zones
The Law includes the basic concepts and provisions on the creation, extension of the period of functioning and liquidation, change of the borders, types and measures for the organization for activities, management, determining the status of participants, customs regulation, taxation and land use. Guarantees of the rights of investors, as well as the legal regime are provided.

Uzbekistan establishes a visa-free entry regime for Chinese citizens
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Decree dated 12 September 2019 No.UP-5819 “On establishing a visa-free regime of entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan for citizens of the People’s Republic of China, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.”

According to the decree, the territory of Navoi region is defined as a free economic zone for innovative, high-tech, export-oriented and import-substituting industries for the period up to 1 January 2030, with the possibility of further extension in due course.
