The Government of the Russian Federation has simplified the procedure for foreign citizens to enter the country

Foreigners who are close relatives of citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to apply for visas to enter Russia in a simplified manner. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

Foreigners who have close relatives with Russian citizenship will be able to issue documents in a simplified manner.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that the list will include such relatives as:

    • spouses;
    • parent-child;
    • brothers / sisters;
    • grandfather/grandmother;
    • grandsons.

"Such relatives will be able to apply for long-term private visas with a validity period of up to one year. This can be done on the basis of a simple written application of our citizen" the Russian Prime Minister explained.

In addition, in the near future, the law will exclude the norm according to which foreigners had to leave the country every three months in order to retain the right to obtain a visa.

The purpose of the amendments is to ease the situation of families who are separated by the borders of different countries.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on a simplified procedure for the entry of foreigners on electronic visas through automobile and river checkpoints in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD).

It was reported that this will attract foreign tourists to the Far East and support the tourist infrastructure. It was also necessary to strengthen the economy of the region and increase its investment attractiveness, the government noted.

Thus, these changes:

Firstly, they will create more comfortable conditions for families, which are still separated by borders.

Secondly, they will make life easier for those who want to stay in Russia, since they will have more time to apply for a temporary residence permit or a residence permit.
