Belarusian Student Law Olympiad - 2020
On February 27-29, 2020, one of the largest student forums in the country- the Belarusian Student Law Olympiad was held at the Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University.
The history of the Olympics dates back to 2004 and in 2020 GRATA International Belarus became a partner of this event.
According to the results of the qualifying round, 9 individual participants (out of 50 declared) and 6 teams (out of 12) went to the finals.
Managing partner of GRATA International Dmitry Viltovsky, partner Maxim Lashkevich, senior lawyers Olga Velishkevich and Natalia Zhuk, who took part in the jury, noted the high level of students’ training and good preparation of the position presentation.
The final round involve teams and individual participants. The task for all participants was to present their position inthe civil (economic) case in the court of the first instance.
Additionally, during the finals participants took part at specialized competition of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The Belarusian Notarial Chamber and the Center for Mediation and Negotiation had prepared special tasks for teams and individual participants.
The winners of Belarusian Student Law Olympiad – 2020 are:
The 1st place took "The vanguard of Themis// Themanguard of Themis" team of BSU, one of the team-member was Maria Azarova – legal assistant at GRATA International.
The 2nd place took the BSU team «Tandem» - the team captain was Angelina Romanchuk – junior associate at GRATA International, and the team «Academius» of Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
The first Minsk Pre-Moot
On March 9-11, 2020, at the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University, GRATA International Belarus became a partner of the first Minsk Pre-Moot Competition named after William C. Vis.
The first Minsk Pre-Moot – a preliminary event of the Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
