April 2-4, 2019, the 10th International Mining and Geological Forum MINEX Kazakhstan 2019 was held in Nur-Sultan.

The forum has been held in Kazakhstan since 2010, being a platform for the presentation of key changes and the most important mining and exploration projects being developed in Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia. The longstanding partners of the forum are the Department of Subsoil Use of the Republic of Kazakhstan; the Committee on Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and, the UK Department for International Trade.

On April 3, Almat Daumov, Partner, Head of Mining Department, GRATA International, spoke at the Technical Session of the Forum on the topic: “Structuring a mining company for effective sale to a strategic investor”.

During the Technical Session, the speakers discussed new opportunities and prospects for attracting investment and financing projects in the mining industry in a changing legal field, the experience of attracting a world-class investment fund to a private mining project in Kazakhstan, choosing an exit strategy for a subsoil use project, and preparing a mining project for foreign to the investor.
