In Uzbekistan liability for the breach of law on personal data has been tightened
In accordance with the Law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” No.ЗРУ-726 dated September 29, 2021 (the “Law No.ЗРУ-726”) there have been introduced amendments to the Administrative Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the “Administrative Code”) and to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the “Criminal Code”).
There have been introduced amendments and alterations to the Customs Code of Uzbekistan
The Oliy Majlis on the twentieth plenary session approved the Law “On amendments and changes to the Custom Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan” on October 21, 2021 (the “Law on amendments”). Articles 70 and 81 of the Custom Code have been amended and 10 new articles have also been included. New articles introduce pre-trial settlement of disputes between the customs authorities and entrepreneurs.
Amendments were made to the Rules of trademark registration in Uzbekistan
By the order of the Minister of Justice No.1988-4 dated October 8, 2021, amendments and additions were made to the “Rules of compilation, filing and considering an application for registration of a trademark and service mark” (the “Rules of trademark registration”).

On September 22, 2021, there was adopted the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the record keeping of taxpayers and simplify the procedure of refunding value added tax” No.529 (the “Resolution No.529”).
