Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures to implement the experiment to improve the investment climate in the city of Tashkent” on 15 August.

Uzbekistan attracted the largest US bank by assets and the world's largest bank by market capitalisation of JPMorgan Chase for advising in obtaining a sovereign credit rating and issuing sovereign bonds. This is stipulated by the presidential decree "On Additional Measures to Diversify Sources of External Financing".

Uzbekistan plans to get a sovereign rating before the end of 2018 and issue its debut Eurobonds. This was reported by Reuters, quoting the First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov.

On July 10, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree on the creation of the free economic zone "Bukhoro-Agro" in the Bukhara region (FEZ).
